Phillip has been reenacting since 1996, and joined the 28th North Carolina in 1997. For several years he served as company commander, and still participates with this unit
even though he now lives in Illinois. Phillip manages a small infantry contingent in Illinois, the 14th Mississippi Columbus
Riflemen. In real life he is a member of the Illinois Air National Guard and a full-time student at McKendree College in Lebanon.
The World of Christian Reenacting debuted in January 2002 and is intended to not only unite Christians from all reenacting periods together, but also
to provide photos, music, articles, and more to reenactors and Civil War buffs in general.
Civil War Reenacting Resume Background: Began reenacting in 1996 with the 9th Illinois. Joined the 28th North Carolina as a private in 1997. Rose to the rank of second sergeant in 1999 at the age of 16. In 2001 was elected to the captaincy of the 28th at age 18. Served as CS infantry commander at the annual Peoria Civil War Weekend in Peoria Illinois, 2002 & 2004. Annually organize and coordinate the Preston Plantation Civil War Reenactment in Bedford Kentucky. Experience: Have served as a front line infantry soldier and artillerist. Command experiences include three years as a company commander, battalion commander at Spotsylvania 2004, several years as an event commander and an event organizer. Specialization: Drill and Tactics--article on drill, "To Turn or not to Turn" was published in June 2003 issue of Camp Chase Gazette, "The Voice of Civil War Reenacting". Works studied include Gilham's, Hardee's Revised, and Casey's. Service: Have reenacted in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.
